Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I use the stencil to make items to sell?
A. No, this is probably the most asked question. The stencils are licensed
for home use only. Each school owns the trademark for each logo and lettering.
It is against federal trademark and copyright laws to use their logo or marks
(including school name) on items for resale. It is also against Federal trademark laws to reproduce any collegiate logo for resale. All items bearing a schools marks
must be approved by the corresponding schools trademark and licensing office
and or the CLC.
Q. I have never stenciled before, can beginners use the stencils?
A. Absolutely, When I came up with this idea I had never stenciled before.
A stencil is simply shapes cut out of plastic -- it's easier than coloring!
In most cases if you paint outside the line you are on the plastic and no
one will ever know. You may want to practice on poster board to check the
paint colors and make sure you are not using too much paint. Even the stencils
which look complicated (like the Georgia Bulldog) are easy! Most of our stencils can easily be painted with a smooth foam roller.
Q. Can you make a Steeler logo stencil?
A. We are not licensed for NFL stencils at this time. We take trademark laws very seriously and will not create any company trademark logo which we are not licensed for or do not have a manufactureres agreement with a licensed company. This also includes car names and logos.
Q. I have used other peel & stick products and some have not stayed on and or left a residue. Do Stik-ables stay up and when I remove them will they leave a residue.
A. In our early days we had some issues with our extra large size if you didn't do everything just right. However, we have worked hard to find the best adhesive on the market for our Stik-ables and we feel we have finally found it. Our Stik-ables will stay up and will even allow you to move them several times without falling down. Our Stik-ables remove from wall surfaces without a residue or harm to the surface.
